RMU Welcomes Transfer Harrington from Maryland

Moon Township, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's lacrosse team is happy to welcome transfer student Amanda Harrington to the Colonials family for the 2015 season.

Harrington, a junior from Brookeville, Md., comes to Robert Morris from the University of Maryland, where she was a two-year member of the Terrapins. She appeared in three games last year for Maryland, which went 23-1 and won the NCAA Division I national championship.

"I am really excited for Amanda to join our team," said RMU head coach Katy Phillips. "She will bring a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge to our program."

A 5-foot-9 defender/midfielder, Harrington (pictured) was an all-conference first-team performer as a senior at Sherwood High School and a Sporting News all-American as a junior. She was also an exemplary basketball player and made the honor roll all four years at Sherwood.

"Amanda's competitive drive, her athleticism and her commitment to winning will contribute to our quest for the 2015 NEC championship," Phillips said.

Robert Morris will seek to follow up on last year's Northeast Conference (NEC) semifinal berth when it embarks on its 11th season of Division I women's lacrosse. The Colonials start their 2015 regular season against city rival Duquesne on Feb. 18 at Joe Walton Stadium.
