Pittsburgh, PA. -- Robert Morris University men's hockey returns to the national rankings at No. 20 in the latest USCHO.com poll. The Colonials upset then No. 10 Michigan with a 4-0 shutout on Saturday on a milestone day for goaltender
Dalton Izyk.
RMU has been receiving votes throughout the 2015-16 season, but re-enters the Top 20 rankings for the first time since the end of the 2014-15 regular season. The Colonials are 3-1-2 (2-0-2) with wins over Air Force, Niagara and a tenth-ranked Michigan team. The win at Michigan is the program's sixth victory over a team ranked in the top ten and marks the first time Michigan has been shut out at home since January 16, 2009. The Wolverines are now No. 13 in this week's poll.
Izyk, the junior goaltender from Oswego, NY, recorded a Robert Morris record-tying fifth career shutout with a 34-save blanking of Michigan. Izyk surpassed 1,000 career saves in the 4-0 victory.Â
