Robert Morris Welcomes Dartmouth for Weekend Clash

Pittsburgh, Pa.  -  Robert Morris University men's hockey will host Dartmouth College for a two-game series this weekend. On Saturday, Nov. 26, the Colonials take on the Big Green at 84 Lumber Arena at the RMU Island Sports Center. Sunday, the teams complete the series in the home of the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins, PPG Paints Arena.

SUNDAY MATINEE
For Sunday's game at PPG Paints Arena, fans are asked to park in the South Lot off Centre Ave., across from the Trib Total Media Gate entrance to PPG Paints Arena. The Trib Total Media Gate entrance will be the only entrance for fans to use for Sunday's game. Tickets can also be purchased inside this entrance at the Box Office, where Will Call is located as well. PPG Paints Arena staff will be present to direct fans to the seating area, located through the KeyBank Club.

SEASON AT A GLANCE
The Colonials are 5-3-2 overall with a 4-3-1 record in Atlantic Hockey, coming into this weekend's non-conference series with Dartmouth. Robert Morris is led in scoring by junior Brady Ferguson who has 18 points on eight goals and ten assists. Sophomore Alex Tonge is second with 13 points on seven goals and six assists, with sophomore defenseman Eric Israel right behind with 12 points on two goals and ten assists. Senior Daniel Leavens rounds out the Colonials double-digit scorers with 11 points on three goals and eight assists. Leavens has a goal in each of the last three games.

Freshman Francis Marotte has handled the bulk of the business for the Colonials in goal, posting a 5-1-1 record with a goals-against average (1.48) and save percentage (.951) in the top three nationally. Defensively, Israel and senior Rob Mann lead the team with 15 blocked shots. Israel leads the nation in points per game by a defenseman (1.20 ppg).

SERIES HISTORY
Robert Morris and Dartmouth have played just one game in program history. The Colonials followed last season's Three Rivers Classic Championship win, traveling to take on Union College and the Big Green in Hanover, N.H. at Dartmouth's home tournament, the Ledyard Classic. Dartmouth won that contest 5-1.

Freshman goaltender Francis Marotte holds a 5-1-1 record, making six starts and playing in 8 of the team's ten games. Marotte has stopped 196 of 206 shots and leads the AHC with a .951 save percentage & 1.48 GAA. Marotte is 3rd in NCAA hockey in save percentage and GAA and 8th in win percentage at .786

POWER UP
RMU's power play is 3rd in the nation & 2nd in Atlantic Hockey (26.9 %). Robert Morris is 2nd in the league in power play goals with 14, while AIC leads with 15. RMU is tied for 13th in the NCAA in power play points (14-28-42) but is third overall with 4.20 power play points/per game. Ferguson (4G, 5A) is 6th in the NCAA in power play scoring and is third in power play points/pg (0.90)

QUICK ON THE DRAW
Ferguson (58.0%) & freshman Daniel Mantenuto (52.8%) lead RMU in faceoffs. Ferguson is 4th in the league in faceoff percentage while Mantenuto is 14th.

KINGS OF THE ROAD
28 of RMU's 35 goals have on the road, along with four of the team's five wins.

COMEBACK KIDS
RMU has scored 18 total goals when trailing, with six coming in eventual wins.

CATCHING FIRE
After not scoring a goal in the first 7 games of the season, Leavens has shaken the monkey off his back, recording a goal in each of the last three games.
