Winthrop, Mass. –
Redshirt junior forward
Brittany Howard and freshman forward
Jaycee Gebhard of the
Robert Morris University women's hockey team were named College Hockey America (CHA) Player of the Month and CHA Rookie of the Month for November, announced the league Thursday afternoon.
Howard paced the league with 12 points through six games during the month of November, and increased her season total to a conference-best 25 points. She posted three goals and added a CHA-leading nine assists in those six games, and extended her current point streak to a season-high six games in the process.
The forward from St. Thomas, Ontario, matched her career high with three assists in a 5-3 victory over St. Cloud State in the consolation game of the Windjammer Classic. She also became the fourth player at Robert Morris to eclipse 100 career points on a power-play goal in the Colonials' 4-3 win over RIT on Nov. 11.
Gebhard takes the CHA Rookie of the Month title for the second consecutive month. The top-line forward tied the freshman scoring lead through the month of November. She paced all CHA freshmen with five goals and added two assists to earn seven points over six games.
Three of her five goals occurred during Robert Morris' 5-3 win over St. Cloud State, which secured Gebhard's first collegiate hat trick and landed her on the Windjammer Classic All-Tournament Team. The freshman leads the Colonials in goals and ranks first in the nation in power-play goals.
Robert Morris returns to CHA action this weekend at Penn State in a two-game series on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4 at noon.
