Somerset, N.J. – Junior April Krivoniak of the Robert Morris University volleyball team has been named the 2015 Fall Co-Scholar-Athlete for volleyball in the Northeast Conference, as announced by the league this afternoon.
 
Krivoniak, a junior biomedical and mechanical engineering major, was named the 2015 NEC Tournament Most Valuable Player after she helped lead the Colonials to their first NEC Tournament title and NCAA Tournament berth since 2003. She recorded 16 kills, nine digs and two blocks in the title match as RMU ended LIU Brooklyn's three-year reign.
 

The Latrobe, Pa., native wrapped up her junior season ranked fourth on the team in kills (1.98), digs (2.72) and blocks (0.48) per game. At the end of this year, she became the first RMU volleyball player since 2010 to be named Capital One Academic All-District.
 
Krivoniak, a two-sport athlete (RMU track and field) and a three-time member of the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll, maintains a near-perfect 3.99 grade point average. She shares this year's volleyball scholar-athlete award with senior Adriana Vinas Joy of LIU Brooklyn.
 
Krivoniak is joined by 10 of her volleyball teammates on the NEC Fall Academic Honor Roll, four of which also made the Commissioner's list for having a GPA of 3.75 or higher.
