Robert Morris University announced today a multi-year partnership with Under Armour, the global leader in performance footwear, apparel, and equipment, as the exclusive outfitter and supplier for the university's 16 NCAA Division I athletics programs.

The partnership between RMU and Under Armour commences Sept. 1, 2016. Under the terms of the agreement, the brand will provide uniforms, footwear, accessories, equipment, and other apparel to all the university's Division I teams. Under Armour also will have the exclusive right to sell all authentic and replica RMU Athletics products.

More than 450 student athletes compete for RMU, and over the past 40 years, the Colonials have claimed 43 regular-season championships and 44 league tournament titles. Since 1992, Robert Morris has placed 56 student-athletes on Capital One District II Academic All-America Teams. Included in that group are 23 student-athletes that were honored in consecutive years. Nine of those student-athletes went on to earn Capital One Academic All-America honors. Since 1988, RMU student-athletes have been named the Northeast Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year in their respective sport 38 times.
Thirteen of RMU's intercollegiate athletics programs have earned at least one conference championship. In 2016, the women's basketball team earned its fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and the men's basketball team has made eight appearances in the Big Dance, a Northeast Conference record. The softball team has eight regular-season conference championships, and football and volleyball have six each. The men's and women's ice hockey teams each have won a conference tournament championship, and the men's team has an NCAA Tournament appearance under its belt. This year, the men's ice hockey team
earned a perfect Academic Progress Rate score from the NCAA.
