Pittsburgh, Pa. - Robert Morris University men's hockey looks to defend its back-to-back Three Rivers Classic titles in the home of the back-to-back Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins, December 29-30 at PPG Paints Arena.
The sixth annual Three Rivers Classic will feature the Colonials hosting a field which includes Arizona State, No. 11 Providence and Lake Superior State. All three teams are making their first appearance in the tournament.

Providence College, which is ranked No. 11 in the most recent USCHO.com & USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls, opens the tournament by facing Arizona State at 4:30 p.m. on December 29. RMU will play in the nightcap at 7:30 p.m. against Lake Superior State. The winners of those two contests will meet in the championship tilt the following evening at 7:30 p.m., with the consolation game played at 4:30 p.m.

Last year, RMU won its second-straight Three Rivers Classic title, defeating Ferris State (1-0) and No. 14 Quinnipiac (5-2) along the path to victory. Robert Morris has won three of the first five Three Rivers Classics, including the inaugural title back in 2012.
