Moon Township, Pa.
– Bella Posset, an early National Letter of Intent signee with the Robert Morris University women's basketball team, has helped lead Beaver High School to its first Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) Class 4A Championship Game.  Third-seeded Beaver, who upset second-seeded Blackhawk on Monday, will face Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic in Friday's title tilt, which is set for a 7:00 p.m. opening tip from the Petersen Events Center on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.

Beaver added another chapter to a special postseason run on Monday, topping Blackhawk, 53-40, in the WPIAL Class 4A semifinals. Posset scored a game-high 20 points in the victory and assisted the Bobcats' defense in limiting the Cougars to their lowest point total of the season. Blackhawk's top two scorers tallied just 11 points each.

A November signee and early commitment, Posset has enjoyed an illustrious career at Beaver. She topped 1,000 career points as a junior under head coach Greg Huston and was named to both the WPIAL All-Section First Team and Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) All-State Second Team. In her senior campaign, she has averaged 19.0 points per game while leading the Bobcats to an 18-5 overall record and 10-2 mark in Section 2-4A play. Beaver also claimed a share of the Section 2-4A championship, its first since the 2012-13 season.

On Feb. 8, in the game that gave Beaver a share of the Section 2-4A crown, Posset sank a pair of free throws with 0.4 seconds remaining to lift the Bobcats over Blackhawk, 59-58.

Posset will be joining a Robert Morris side that is battling for its third straight Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament title and second consecutive NEC regular-season crown. The Colonials, who are tied for first place in the NEC standings, return to the North Athletic Complex on Friday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. against Wagner.
