A native of Baltimore, Md., Boyd helped guide the Colonials to a pair of NCAA Tournaments (1980, 1990). He compiled career totals of 1,204 points and 434 assists and twice earned All-Northeast Conference honors. Boyd was an All-NEC First Team selection in 1991 after earning All-NEC Second Team plaudits in 1989. As a senior during the 1990-91 campaign, Boyd finished 10th in the NEC in scoring (15.1 ppg) and fifth in assists (4.8 apg). He was also named to the NEC All-Tournament Team in both 1989 and 1990.
