Furjanic led the Colonials to an overall record of 73-71 (.507) in his five seasons from 1979 to 1984, leading RMU to its first two appearances in NCAA Tournament in back-to-back seasons in 1982 and 1983. He was tabbed the 1983 ECAC Metro Coach of the Year after leading the Colonials to an overall record of 23-8 (.742). Furjanic also led RMU to its first victory in the NCAA Tournament, a 64-54 win over Georgia Southern in the Opening Round of the 1983 tourney. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Furjanic currently serves as the head coach of Polk Community College in Winter Haven, Fla.
