The 2009 veteran's choice to be inducted into the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame, Johnson played two seasons of basketball at the junior college level at Robert Morris. As a freshman in 1967-68, he averaged 25.1 points per game, followed by a points per game average of 28.4 as a sophomore. For those efforts he was named a Junior College All-American both seasons. A native of Akron, Ohio, Johnson went on to finish his career at Duquesne.
