Robert Morris Rolls Past Queens, 5-0, in Exhibition

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Robert Morris University men's ice hockey team scored twice in the second period and three times in the third period to claim a 5-0 exhibition win against Queens Saturday night.

After a scoreless first period, Scott Kobialko (Spruce Grove, Alberta / Camrose Kodiaks) scored twice in the second period once even strength and once on the power play.  The Colonials and the Gales played even in the first period but Robert Morris jump started its offense in the second period when Kobialko found the net 2:19 into the frame with Adam Brace (Cobden, Ontario / Canisius College), in his first game in the Blue and Red with White, earning the first assist and Andrew Blazek (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Topeka Roadrunners) the second assist.

Robert Morris continued the offensive attack in the third period as Ron Cramer (New Wilmington, Pa. / Indiana Ice) found the net on a delayed penalty situation with an extra attacker. Cody Crichton (Palgrave, Ontario / Brampton Capitals) claimed a faceoff back to Denny Urban (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Ohio Blue Jackets), who fired a shot on net that Cramer tipped in the give the Colonials a three goal advantage.

The Colonial added a pair of power-play goals from James Lyle (Nepean, Ontario / Smiths Falls Bears) and Joseph Harcharik (Des Moines, Iowa / North Iowa Outlaws) to close scoring. Brooks Ostergard (Chagrin Falls, Ohio / Bay State Breakers) , Eric Levine (Wheeling, Ill. / Pembroke Lumber Kings) and Eric Ferber (Scottsdale, Ariz. / Bridgewater Bandits) combined for the shutout in net making a total of 22 saves. For the game, Robert Morris went 3-of-12 on power play and went a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
