Moon Township, Pa. – A league-high 17 student-athletes from the
Robert Morris University rowing team were named to the 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rowing All-Academic Team, it was announced by the league.
To be eligible for the MAAC Rowing All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and own a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher on a 4.00 scale.
Earning the honor for the Colonials were three seniors, eight juniors and six sophomores.
Senior
Paige Oster highlights the MAAC Rowing All-Academic Team for Robert Morris, as she owns a perfect 4.00 GPA as a nursing major.
Oster, who earned the
Highest GPA Award at the 2016 RMU All-Sports Banquet, was joined by fellow classmates
Rebekah Noorlag and
Caitlin Ryan on the MAAC Rowing All-Academic Team. Noorlag, a finance major, owns a 3.75 GPA, while Ryan has compiled a 3.87 GPA while studying nursing.
The junior class for the Colonials is led by
Taylor Andree and
Savanah Buhite, who have posted cumulative GPA's of 3.92 and 3.90, respectively. Andree is a biology major, while Buhite studies English. Sophomore
Lindsay Feltz, meanwhile, has compiled a 3.98 GPA as a computer information systems major.
Led by first-year head coach
Nelle Stahura, RMU placed
sixth out of 10 teams at the 2016 MAAC Championships, compiling 31 points.
