Sharing the first Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the 2014-15 season is sophomore linebacker Nic Lamica of the football squad. Starting his first collegiate game after earning a redshirt last year, Lamica led the Colonials with 14 tackles in RMU’s season opener against Eastern Kentucky (8/28) at Joe Walton Stadium. Lamica, a native of Grand Rapids, Mich., also recorded the first interception of his career and recorded a pair of pass breakups as the Colonials opened a new era under John Banaszak, who was making his debut as RMU’s head coach against the Colonels. Lamica recorded eight solo takedowns among his 14 tackles, and 10 of his stops were recorded in the second half.  Â
