One of two female student-athletes to be honored as the Higher Images RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 24, 2014, is freshman midfielder Greer Monahan of the soccer team. A native of Sewickley, Pa., Monahan’s first career goal proved to the game winner as Robert Morris snapped a seven-game winless skid with a 1-0 victory @ Canisius (9/20). For her efforts in the win over the Golden Griffins, Monahan was tabbed the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week (9/22), marking the third time in five weeks so far in 2014 a member of the Colonials has garnered the honor. On the 2014 campaign, Monahan has started seven of RMU’s nine contests.Â
