One of two female student-athletes to be honored as the Higher Images RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 24, 2014, is senior middle blocker Becky Jay of the volleyball team. In three matches last week as part of the Golden Grizzlies Invitational at Oakland University, Jay finished with 34 kills and a .265 attack percentage to go along with five digs and 10 blocks. Her best match came against Bowling Green (9/20), as Jay tallied a season-high 19 kills against seven errors in 41 total attempts for a .293 attack percentage. She also tied a season high with seven blocks against the Falcons and for her efforts earned a spot on the 2014 Golden Grizzlies Invitational All-Tournament Team. So far this season Jay has started all 14 matches and leads Robert Morirs in kills (96), attack percentage (.231) and blocks (43).
