Taking home the Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 22, 2014, is senior defensive lineman Forrest Mason of the football squad. A native of Union Bridge, Md., Mason was instrumental in helping the Colonials climb out of its largest deficit in school history to secure a victory in a 27-24 win over Central Connecticut State (10/18) at Joe Walton Stadium. He finished with eight tackles, including five solo stops, and also forced a fumble that helped lead to the eventual winning score. The Blue Devils faced third-and-seven at their own 17-yard line, but Mason sacked CCSU quarterback Nick Sangiacomo for a seven-yard loss and forced him to fumble. Mason pounced on the loose ball at the 13-yard line of Central Connecticut State, and two plays later RMU took the lead for good. For his efforts, Mason was named the Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week (10/20).
