Garnering the Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor for Jan. 14, 2015, is senior forward Lucky Jones of the basketball squad. In helping the Colonials wrap up a three-game homestand with a pair of victories last week, Jones averaged 18.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in wins @ Wagner (1/8/15) and Central Connecticut State (1/10/15). Jones, a native of Newark, N.J., registered his first double-double of the 2014-15 campaign and eighth of his career by leading the Colonials with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 77-73 victory over the Seahawks. Two days later Jones again paced Robert Morris with 18 points in a 72-60 win over the Blue Devils while also adding five rebounds and four assists. Thanks to a pair of steals in the win @ Wagner, Jones became just the third player in Northeast Conference history to accumulate career totals of 1,300 points, 700 rebounds, 150 assists and 150 steals. He enters action this week just two rebounds shy of becoming the program’s all-time leading rebounder and is supplying RMU with an average of 13.0 points and a team-high 5.9 rebounds per contest.
