Earning his second Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolade of the 2014-15 season is senior forward Cody Wydo of the hockey squad. In a sweep of American International at the RMU Island Sports Center last weekend, Wydo scored three goals and tallied three assists for six points. The majority of his offensive output came in the second game, when he lit the lamp three times for his second hat trick of the year while adding a pair of assists for five points in a 9-4 victory. Wydo tied the RMU single-game record for points and in the process became the program’s all-time leading scorer. The native of Southgate, Mich., now owns 139 career points (79 goals, 60 assists) in 138 career contests. A Hobey Baker Award candidate, Wydo currently ranks second in the NCAA Division I scoring race with 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists), just two behind Boston University’s Jack Eichel.Â
