Picking up her first Higher Images RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the spring 2015 season is senior pitcher Nicole Sleith of the softball team. In four games from the circle last week, Sleith was nothing short of dominant, finishing with a 4-0 record, including three consecutive shutouts to finish the weekend, in helping lead the Colonials to a 4-1 record at the Miami Invitational. She posted an ERA of just 0.50 and posted 32 strikeouts. Sleith, a native of Smithton, Pa., saved her best of last, twirling back-to-back shutouts on the final day of the tournament, allowing just nine hits in 14 innings, striking out 19 and issuing just one walk. For her efforts, Sleith was named the Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time in five weeks to open the 2015 season. Overall on the year, Sleith owns a 9-7 record and a 1.56 ERA, having struck out 150 batters in 103 innings pitched.Â
