For the second consecutive week a member of the golf team earns the Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week, as senior Matt Gurska garners the nod for April 8, 2015. At the Seahawk Invitational earlier this week at Quail Valley Golf Club, Gurska took home medalist honors and, based on score to par, polished off the finest 36-hole tournament in school history. In the first round, Gurska carded a 69. He followed that with a score of 70 to post a two-day score of 139, which helped him finish the tournament five strokes under par and seven shots clear of his closest competitor. The Hermitage, Pa., native topped the field in birdies (9), par three scoring (2.88), par four scoring (4.05) and par five scoring (4.38) and helped lead the Colonials to the team title with a score of 600. For his efforts, Gurska was selected as the Northeast Conference Golfer of the Week. Â
