Earning the Higher Images RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor for April 22, 2015, is junior outfield Ashley Gerhart of the softball team. In five games last week, Gerhart hit .533 (8-for-15) at the dish with six runs, six RBI, a triple, two home runs and a pair of stolen bases. She was just as good on defense, registering 12 putouts and adding three outfield assists as the Colonials stayed perfect in Northeast Conference action. In a two-game sweep of LIU Brooklyn (4/18) at the North Athletic Complex, Gerhart went 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. In the second game of the doubleheader, a 6-5 victory, the native of Imperial, Pa., went 2-for-2 with a triple, home run, two runs and three RBI. The following afternoon, Gerhart finished 3-for-4 in the second game of a doubleheader sweep of Wagner, scoring a pair of runs, driving in three thanks to a dinger and stealing a pair of bags. On the 2015 season, Gerhart is hitting .394 and leads the team in runs scored (26) and stolen bases (8) while owning five home runs, 22 RBI and a .615 slugging percentage.Â
