Redshirt senior Cassie Raymond of the women’s soccer team garners the Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week accolade for Sept. 16, 2015. After missing the last two seasons due to injury, Raymond, a redshirt senior forward, scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, to help lead the Colonials to a 4-1 victory over Canisius (9/13) at the North Athletic Complex. Her first goal came in the box in the 11th minute, and she would later find the back of the net in the 57th minute. For her efforts, Raymond was named the Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week (9/14). In six games so far this season, Raymond, a native of South Park, Pa., is tied with Antonia Grese for the team lead in scoring with four points.
