For the third consecutive week a member of the Robert Morris football squad is bestowed the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week, as earning the honor for Sept. 23, 2015, is redshirt senior defensive lineman Forrest Mason. In a 35-24 victory over Notre Dame (Ohio) (9/19) at Joe Walton Stadium that was part of the University’s Homecoming festivities, Mason finished with nine tackles, including two for losses that totaled five yards, as well as a quarterback hurry. His biggest contribution, however, came with just 1:03 left to play, as his nine-yard interception return for a touchdown gave the Colonials a 35-24 advantage and helped seal RMU’s first win of the year. Through the first three games of the 2015 campaign, Mason ranks second for the Colonials in tackles (19) and also owns an one and-a-half sacks, an interception and two pass breakups.Â
