Earning the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 21, 2015, is senior goaltender Brenden Alfery of the soccer team. In a split through Brooklyn, N.Y., last week, Alfery came up big to close out the two-game swing by tying a career high with 11 saves in a 1-0 double overtime victory @ St. Francis Brooklyn (10/18). The Terriers came into the contest with just one loss on the year and were ranked in the top spot on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Northeast Region poll. Alfery finished with six saves in the second half, and his clean sheet marked his fifth of the year. In two games on the week, the native of Cheswick, Pa., finished with 17 saves. So far on the 2015 campaign, Alfery has started each of RMU’s 14 games, posting a 1.17 goals against average and .830 save percentage. Â
