Junior goaltender Dalton Izyk of the ice hockey team earns the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor for Nov. 4, 2015, after helping the Colonials earn a split in a two-game series last weekend at No. 10 Michigan. In the second game, Izyk turned away 34 shots in a 4-0 shutout, helping him eclipse 1,000 saves for his career. The performance also helped Robert Morris earn its sixth win in school history against a Top 10 team. The shutout against the Wolverines marks the fifth of Izyk’s career, which ties a program record that was originally established by Eric Levine (2009-13). Izyk enters action this weekend ranked third nationally in save percentage (.961), and his 1.36 goals against average ranks sixth.Â
