NCAA Division I’s leading scorer in men’s soccer, sophomore Neco Brett earns his second Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the 2013 fall campaign after an offensive explosion in a pair of victories last weekend. In wins over Sacred Heart (10/25) and Howard (10/27) at the North Athletic Complex in RMU’s final two home games of the regular season, Brett scored a pair of goals and dished out five assists for nine points. He finished with a goal and three assists in a 5-0 win over the Pioneers, then added a goal and two helpers in a 4-1 win over the Bison. Thanks to his outburst, Brett pushed his season point total to 32, which leads Division I. Denzel Clarke of Gardner-Webb currently ranks second in the nation with 31 points, while Patrick Mullins of Maryland ranks third with 29 points. For his efforts last weekend, Brett was tabbed the latest Northeast Conference Player of the Week (10/28).
