Taking home his second Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolade of the last three weeks is freshman wide receiver Kyle Buss of the football team. In a vote of Northeast Conference head coaches Wednesday, Buss was named the 2015 NEC Offensive Rookie of the Year. On the 2015 campaign, Buss finished with 50 receptions for 742 yards, an average of 14.8 yards per catch. He established numerous rookie records, including single-season marks for both receptions and receiving yards. He ranks second in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) in receiving yards among freshmen as well as third among rookies in receptions per game (4.55). The honor of NEC Offensive Rookie of the Year for Buss came just two days after he was the lone NEC student-athlete to be named as a finalist for the STATS National Freshman Player of the Year award. He is a native of Mechanicville, N.Y.
