Senior forward Zac Lynch of the hockey team is the recipient of the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Dec. 2, 2015. In a sweep of Sacred Heart last weekend at the RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island, Lynch compiled five points, scoring a pair of goals while finishing with three assists. Both of the goals for Lynch, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., were of the shorthanded variety, extending his streak for consecutive games with a shorthanded goal to four, an NCAA Division I record. He owns 10 career shorthanded goals, which leads all active players. For his efforts, Lynch was named the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week (12/1/15). So far this season, Lynch has compiled nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points, which leads the league.Â
