Garnering one of two Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week accolades for Feb. 3, 2016, is junior April Krivoniak. A two-sport standout, Krivoniak has turned her attention to track & field after leading the RMU volleyball team to the 2015 Northeast Conference Tournament title. At the SPIRE Midwest Open last weekend, the native of Latrobe, Pa., earned bronze in the shot put with a personal record distance of 13.93 meters. The throw ranks second in program history and also helped her qualify for the ECAC Championships for the second time in the last three years. For her efforts, Krivoniak was named the NEC Field Athlete of the Week (2/2/16).Â
