Earning the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolade for March 2, 2016, is senior Greg Gibson of the hockey team. In a home-and-home sweep of Canisius last weekend that helped Robert Morris secure its second consecutive Atlantic Hockey regular-season crown, Gibson scored five goals and tallied an assist for six points. In a 6-3 road victory in Buffalo, N.Y., to open the series, Gibson, a native of Burlington, Ontario, scored twice and added a helper. The next night at 84 Lumber Arena at the RMU Island Sports Center, Gibson posted his second hat trick of the year in a 6-2 win. For his efforts, Gibson was selected as the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week, NCAA Second Star of the Week and the College Hockey News Player of the Week. Gibson enters the 2016 Atlantic Hockey Tournament leading the Colonials in goals (28) while ranking second in points (47). Â
