In helping Robert Morris fight back and earn a 2-1 victory in a best-of-three series over Lindenwood at the RMU Island Sports Center last weekend, freshman goaltender Lauren Bailey has been selected as the Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for March 2, 2016. In starting games two and three of the series, Bailey turned away 59 shots and allowed just a pair of goals in 120 minutes of action. Her starts against the Lions marked just the third and fourth of her career. In a 3-1 victory in game two of the series Saturday, Bailey posted 25 saves. The next afternoon she tied a career high with 34 saves and evened her record on the year in between the pipes at 2-2-1. Overall this season, Bailey, a native of Freeland, Mich., has recorded 148 saves, a 2.65 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.Â
