In helping lead Robert Morris to its first two victories of the 2016 campaign this past week, senior midfielder Brittany Byerly of the lacrosse team is the recipient of the Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor for March 9, 2016. Byerly compiled 10 goals and two assists in a home victory over St. Bonaventure (3/4) at Joe Walton Stadium and a road win @ La Salle (3/8). In a 17-10 victory over the Bonnies, Byerly, a native of Wexford, Pa., scored six goals and registered an assist. Her six tallies are tied for second in the RMU single-game record book, and it marked the first time a member of the Colonials scored at least six goals since February 5, 2012. Byerly also helped Robert Morris garner its first road victory of the season in an 12-11 win over the Explorers by registering four goals and a helper. Through five games this season, Byerly leads RMU in goals (13) and points (17). Â
