Junior Rachel Boody of the track & field team is the recipient of the Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for April 6, 2016. At the Dave Labor Invitational on the campus of Slipper Rock University last weekend, Boody earned gold in both the discus and the hammer throw. She posted a toss of 47.65 meters (156’4”) in the discus to not only win the event, but qualify for the ECAC Championships and set a new school record. Boody also recorded a final tally of 47.97 meters (157’4”) to finish first in the hammer throw. She enters action this week owning the top distance in the Northeast Conference this season in the discus while ranking fourth in the hammer throw.
