Earning his third Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolade of the 2013-14 academic year is sophomore Neco Brett of the soccer team. A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Brett was tabbed the 2013 Northeast Conference Player of the Year in a vote of league head coaches Nov. 14, 2013, after a breakout season in which he scored 14 goals and registered eight assists for a total of 36 points. Brett ended the regular season as the leading scorer in NCAA Division I and became the third player from RMU in program history to take home the NEC Player of the Year honor, joining former Colonials Troy Fabiano (1993) and Rhian Dodds (2002). NEC Player of the Year wasn’t the only accolade Brett was bestowed in the last week, as he also garnered a spot on the 2013 College Sports Madness All-America Team Monday, Nov. 18.
