The recipient of the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 14, 2016, is junior goalie Winter Fondi of the soccer team. In helping the Colonials pick up their first two wins of the 2016 season over the last week, Fondi posted back-to-back shutouts in victories over St. Bonaventure (9/11) and Pittsburgh (9/13). Fondi, a native of Leetsdale, Pa., recorded eight saves in a 1-0 road win over the Bonnies, then stopped five shots as Robert Morris earned a 2-0 home victory over the Panthers at the North Athletic Complex. Thanks to the duo of clean sheets, Fondi lowered his goals against averaged this season to 1.30 in four games. He has posted 19 saves and an .826 save percentage so far in 2016.Â
