One of two members of the Robert Morris women’s hockey team to be tabbed Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 5 is redshirt junior forward Brittany Howard. In a season-opening sweep of Providence on the road, Howard scored a pair of goals and recorded an assist. In the 2016-17 season opener against the Friars Oct. 1, Howard registered an assist that knotted the game, 2-2, as the Colonials went on to a 3-2 win. The next night, Howard, a native of St. Thomas, Ontario, scored the last two goals, including the eventual game winner, for Robert Morris in another 3-2 victory. For her efforts, Howard was named College Hockey America (CHA) Player of the Week (10/3/16). In 73 career contests at RMU, Howard has recorded 36 goals and 49 assists for 85 points, an average of 1.16 points per contest.
