Taking home the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 9, 2016, is sophomore forward Alex Tonge of the hockey team. In helping the Colonials post a 1-0-1 record in a home-and-home series with No. 11 Ohio State, Tonge scored a pair of goals and dished out two assists. In a 6-2 win over the Buckeyes at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio, Nov. 4, Tonge notched RMU’s first goal of the game to tie the score, 1-1, and his goal at the 11:07 mark of the second period proved to be the game winner. The Robert Morris win helped send Ohio State to its first loss of the season. For his efforts, Tonge was named the Travel Team USA Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week (11/7/16). In eight games this season, Tonge, a native of Kingston, Ontario, has supplied the Colonials with six goals and three assists for nine points.
