Picking up her third Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week nod of the 2016-17 season is freshman forward Jaycee Gebhard of the hockey squad. At the 2016 Windjammer Classic, Gebhard was tabbed to the all-tournament team after notching her first career hat trick in a 5-3 win over St. Cloud State (11/26/16). Trailing, 3-1, in the third period, Gebhard’s goal at the 8:54 mark of the period on the power play tied the score, 3-3. She added an empty net goal at 19:51 to help seal the victory as the Colonials went 1-0-1 in the tournament. For her efforts, Gebhard, a native of Plenty, Saskatchewan, was named the College Hockey America (CHA) Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. Gebhard leads NCAA Division I in power play goals (6) and ranks second in points per game (1.25) among rookies. She has compiled a team-high 10 goals to along with 10 assists for 20 points.Â
