You could say that no student-athlete has burst onto the collegiate scene in women’s ice hockey like freshman forward Brittany Howard. Thanks to scoring five goals in a pair of wins last week, Howard earns the Higher Images RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Dec. 4, 2013, her second accolade of the 2013-14 campaign. Howard, a native of St. Thomas, Ontario, tallied the tying goal in an eventual 2-1 victory @ Ohio State (11/26/13), then exploded by lighting the lamp four times in a 4-2 win over Maine (11/29/13) at the RMU Island Sports Center. Her performance against the Black Bears marks the first hat trick of the season by a member of the Colonials. Thanks to her performance, Howard was tabbed the College Hockey America (CHA) Player of the Week Dec. 2, 2013. On the 2013-14 campaign, Howard leads the Colonials with 10 goals, 15 assists and 25 points.Â
