Named the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 1, 2017, is senior goaltender Dalton Izyk of the hockey team. Izyk posted a shutout in a 6-0 win at Holy Cross (1/28/17), becoming the third member of the Colonials to record a shutout this season, joining fellow netminders Francis Marotte and Andrew Pikul. Izyk posted his first win of the season in his first start since Nov. 5, 2016, due to injury. Against the Crusaders, Izyk, a native of Oswego, N.Y., finished with 25 saves in earning his sixth career shutout. He finished with 38 saves on the weekend and didn’t allow a goal in 94:11 after entering the first tilt of the two-game set and holding Holy Cross without a goal for 34:11. For his efforts, Izyk was named the Travel Team USA Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week (1/31/17).
