Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Heger of the lacrosse squad is the recipient of the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 15, 2017. In the first two contests of the 2017 campaign, Heger compiled 28 saves, a .549 save percentage and a 1-1 mark in net. In the 2017 season opener at No. 15/14 Penn State, Heger tied a career high for saves with 15 against the Nittany Lions. He added 13 saves in RMU’s home opener, a 10-8 victory over Bellarmine (2/11). For his efforts, Heger was tabbed the inaugural Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week (2/13) of the 2017 campaign.
