Sophomore Lilly Harnish of the track & field team garners the Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 22. At the 2017 Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, N.Y., Harnish took home gold in the high jump thanks to leap of 1.59 meters (5’2.50”). Thanks to her performance, Harnish, a native of Waynesboro, Pa., earns All-NEC First Team accolades. Harnish is just the second student-athlete from Robert Morris to earn an individual conference title in the high jump, joining Michele Roth, who won the event in 2004. Harnish also scored for RMU in the triple jump at the NEC Indoor Track & Field Championships, posting a leap of 35’10.75” to finish seventh.
