Selected as the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for March 15, 2017, is senior forward Daniel Leavens of the hockey team. In a sweep of Holy Cross at 84 Lumber Arena last weekend in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Atlantic Hockey Tournament, Leavens led the way offensively for the Colonials with a pair of goals and two assists. He posted both of his helpers in a 6-3 victory in the first game of the series. In a 3-2 win that helped Robert Morris advance to the semifinals of the Atlantic Hockey Tournament this weekend at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y., Leavens scored the first two goals of the game in the second period. Thanks to the victory that completed the sweep, Leavens and his fellow senior classmates notched their 88th victory, the most in program history for wins by a class that also includes Dalton Izyk, Rob Mann and Ben Robillard. Entering the semifinals of the Atlantic Hockey Tournament, Leavens ranks second for the Colonials in scoring this season with 46 points courtesy of 14 goals and 32 assists. Â
