In helping lead Robert Morris to a 3-0 start in Northeast Conference play courtesy of a 13-7 victory @ Saint Joseph’s (4/1), sophomore goalkeeper Alex Heger of the lacrosse team is the recipient of the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for April 5, 2017. Against the Hawks, Heger established a career high in saves with 20 while allowing just seven goals in the victory. He held Saint Joseph’s scoreless in the second quarter and allowed just four goals in the second half. For his efforts, Heger, a native of Carmel, Indiana, was tabbed the NEC Defensive Player of the Week (4/3/17) for the second time this season. He currently leads the league in both save percentage (.587) and saves per game (13.20).
