Named the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for April 19, 2017, is sophomore midfielder Tyson Gibson of the lacrosse team. In a 12-7 victory over Canisius (4/18) under the lights at Joe Walton Stadium that wrapped up the non-conference slate for the Colonials, Gibson set career highs across the board in goals (2), assists (4) and points (6) to pace Robert Morris. He posted helpers on two of RMU’s first four goals and also scored during a 4-0 run that gave the Colonials an 8-2 lead in the first half. Gibson, a native of Maple, Ontario, added a goal and an assist for Robert Morris in the third quarter. In 13 games this season, all as a member of the starting lineup, Gibson leads the Colonials in assists (16) and ranks second for the squad in points (31).
