Earning the first Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the 2017-18 season is Bayley Winkel of the soccer team, as the senior midfielder has scored all three goals for the Colonials to start the 2017 campaign. He notched his first marker of the year in a 3-1 setback @ Cleveland State (8/25) in the season opener for Robert Morris. Two days later, Winkel, a native of Whitby, Ontario, gave the Colonials a 2-0 lead with a brace in RMU’s home opener against St. Bonaventure (8/27). In the first two games of the 2017 season, Winkel has doubled his scoring output from last year. In 17 games in 2016, the transfer from Drexel tallied three points on a goal and an assist. He leads Robert Morris in the early going of 2017 with six points.
