Junior forward Zac Sherman of the soccer team has been selected as the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 11, 2017. In the 2017 Northeast Conference opener for the Colonials, Sherman scored the only goal of the contest at 56:30 to help lift Robert Morris to a 1-0 road victory over Central Connecticut State. One of the highlight reel, senior midfielder Jake Cooper played the ball over the top from midfield, finding Sherman on the left edge of the penalty box. Sherman, a native of Mechanicsburg, Pa., volleyed the bouncing ball with the outside of his right foot, bending it insider the upper right 90 for his career-high third goal of the campaign.
