Named the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 18, 2017, is junior David Szymanski of the golf team. In the final fall tournament of the season for the Colonials in Highland, Mich., Szymanski took home medalist honors at the Titans Motown Collegiate. Playing an hour from his hometown, Szymanski, a native of Gross Pointe Park, Mich., posted a three-round score of 216, which was even par. He finished three strokes ahead of Ben Gilles of Green Bay. In 12 rounds this fall, Szymanski averaged 74.75 strokes per round, which ranked second for Robert Morris. As a team at the Titans Motown Collegiate, the Colonials closed the fall campaign with a victory courtesy of a three-round score of 888. It marks the ninth straight year RMU has won at least one tournament.Â
