Redshirt freshman running back Harrison Dreher of the football squad has been selected as the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 25, 2017. Against Sacred Heart (10/21) at Joe Walton Stadium, Dreher, a native of Clairton, Pa., fielded a kickoff at RMU’s goal line and raced 100 yards down the right sideline for a touchdown to give the Colonials a 14-7 advantage in the fourth quarter. The return came just moments after the Pioneers had taken a 7-6 advantage with a 10-play, 87-yard drive. The kickoff return of 100 yards for Dreher tied an RMU school record for the longest in program history, and his return marked the sixth 100-yard kickoff return in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) this season. On the 2017 campaign Dreher paces the Robert Morris ground game with 302 yards rushing on 102 attempts, an average of 3.0 yards per carry, while averaging 25.0 yards on 13 kickoff returns.Â
